Seminar Terrorist Tactics / Case Studies

Learning from assassination attemps that happend in the past
and drawing the right conclusions from mistakes made by
security staff. That is what you learn during this seminar.

Aim of the seminar

Improvement of operational capabilities of security teams. People working in the field
of protection will be sensitized for the
threats and learn how terrorist operate.
Conclusions will be drawn from the mis-
takes of security units in the past. Based
on this participants will learn how to avoid such lethal mistakes and how to develop professional countermeasures to different attack scenarios.

Seminar topics

Categories of attacks

The different types of attacks analyzed on the basis of distance (short, middle and long range).

The assassination attempt

- The process of terrorist target selection.
- The planning, preparation and carrying out an attempt.
- The structur of an ambush.
- The modus operandi of various terrorist groups.

Case studies with unknown details of assassination attempts (details of the
planning, preparation and carrying out phases) in the past, according to
the categorie of attacks (and from the perspective of perpetrators and security staff).

- Kidnapping
- Hand guns
- Sniper
- Deposited explosive devices
- Suicide attacks with explosives
- Guided anti-tank weapons

Development of countermeasures for various attacks that happend in the past

All case studies demonstrate how the
terrorists selected their targets, how
they planned the attacks and which
were the mistakes which enables the
successfull attempts. The locations
of the attacks will also be analyzed
during the seminar.  The case studies
are made with the aid of  drawings,
photos, video recordings and maps.
We have reconstracted an assassination
attempt (planning, surveillance and
carrying out) with actors at the origin
scene of crime.  The participants will
see it during a slide and video show.

The seminar goes on for three day (36 hours). 

Participants must present a certificate issued by the police, statting that the
holder has no criminal record (not older than three months).
