Students apply immediatly what they learned during the theory lesson.
During the scenario-based training, students go through situation which could occure during a protective assignment. Scenarios range from a
VIP who is difficult to handle to attacks with different weapons. Here the VIP has been attacked by a gunman and is evacuated and covered with a folding ballistic attaché case.
While the VIP is walking from his residence to the limousine, a gunman opens fire. The VIP is evacuated to the car.
The close protection team has not checked correctly the surrounding of the residence. As the VIP is escorted to the limousine, the instructors, playing the bad guys, detonate by remote control a smoke grenade, simulation an explosive device.
The driver of the hit limousine covers the
evacuation of the VIP. As soon as the VIP is in the chase car the killing zone is left.
In the second week students have to apply during scenario based training what they have learned previously. Here the VIP has been “injured” by an attacker and the team has to give first aid under stress.
During the training the stress is increased. Here an attack on the VIP car is simulated using smoke and
noise. The instructors film all the scenarios so that students see their own mistakes.
Two close protection officers return fire and take cover behind the car. The evacuation of the VIP has the priority
Simulation: the armored limousine has ben hit at the front-side by an RPG 7 launcher. The limou- sine cannot be moved. The VIP is evacuated with the chase car.
Some of the equipment needed for pro- tective assignments: laptop, radio, weapons and ballistic vest.
