MOVING CAR ATTACKSTo survive an attack from a moving vehicle is similar to a motorcycle attack, but there are some very important
differences. In surviving an attack from a moving vehicle, really your only protection is ramming the car or forcing
the car off the road. Let me show you the basic differences between a motorcycle attack and a moving vehicle attack. This is your automobile. Again when you think about it, it's nothing but common sense. This is the bad guy. If he came up on this side, he has 2 outlets to shoot at you from. If you force him to come up on you on this side, he
now only has one outlet to shoot at you from. So you've cut his firepower down to 50%. so the 1st thing is, if you
see a bunch of bad guys and they're starting to try to overtake you, at least try to get them to come on this side.
Now if you can't do that, then the only solution to this is basically the same solution as the motorcycle. make the differences in velocity of these 2 vehicles as big as possible. Because the difference between the velocity of these 2 vehicles is going to
make the difference between them being able to fire into the car accurately or not be able to fire into the car accurately. I mean something in the order of a difference of 200 and 300% different, just by changing the speeds 10 to 20mph, makes a huge difference in the exposure of the automobile. It's imperative that the velocity of these 2 vehicles are different; that this one is much slower than this one.
Orvile Gunduz
Orvile Gunduz was the Turkish consulate general in Boston. After his
place of business was bombed he received a warning from the Armenian Terrorist group that "they we're going to assassinate him next". As he drove home from work, he had to drive by a construction area that required traffic to drive very slowly as they drove around this one particular corner. A single terrorist was waiting for him at this choke point. On May 4 1982 in Somerville Mass. as
he turned this corner, the terrorist fired a nine millimeter hand gun into the drivers
window, killing Gunduz. The car rolled to a stop up against a fence. The terrorist then took a 357 magnum and fired a shot off in the ear of Gunduz.
He dropped the 9 mm and walked calmly down the hill into a waiting car. There is a donut shop at the bottom of
the hill. Video cameras recorded the terrorist sitting in the shop calmly having a cup of coffee and occasionally
looking at his watch. The terrorist had Gunduz' schedule down so pat that they.
Gen. Lico Girogieri
The victim, Gen. Lico Girogieri, was assassinated while being driven home in his chauffeur-driven vehicle. On
March 21,1987 while driving on a dimly lit, narrow street, two men on a motorcycle blinked their lights as though
they were going to pass the Generals' vehicle. The assassins were driving an all-terrain motorcycle and their faces were covered by their helmets. The driver pulled over to the right to let them pass. When the vehicle slowed down, they fired a revolver into
the back window of the generals' vehicle. Then they pulled along side the generals' vehicle and opened fire into the back of the car. The general was hit in the neck and chest. The driver stopped the car and
the two men got off the motorcycle and fired into the back seat of the car the time was approx. 5:30 P.M. . The
General was working on the Star War program.
Antonio da Empoli
On Feb 22, 1986, four members of the Red Brigade wounded a top official from the Italian government.
As he was being driven to work by his bodyguard chauffeur Antonio da Empoli, an economic aide, was shot twice in the leg
and once in the hand. The shooting occurred as Empoli stepped out of his vehicle to buy the morning newspaper.
He bought the newspaper at a newsstand near his home every morning. As the attackers rushed towards Empoli, his driver / bodyguard shouted to Empoli to duck and get under a nearby parked car. He sped forward towards the terrorists, jumped out of the car and
returned fire. He killed one of the terrorists. The terrorist killed was a 28 year
old woman wearing a bullet-proof vest. She was shot in the neck. The other two attackers fled on motorbikes.
Pinochet
While driving home from his weekend retreat in the Adenan foot hills, President Pinochet's motorcade was attacked
by approximately 12 gunmen. As the motorcade crossed a bridge a car with a trailer spun in front of the convoy.
Three of the cars in the motorcade were blown up as
they sat on the bridge. The gunmen fired at the motorcade with automatic weapons, hand grenades, and rockets. The end results were five dead and nine injured. When the attacked started Pinochet dove to the floor of his Mercedes, covering his 10 year old grandson. Pinochet's bodyguards returned fire in what Pinochet describes as an "intense gun battle".
Sgt. Judd
On April 3, 1984, at approximately 5:00 P.M., as he was driving on his mail route, Sgt. Judd was shot by two
men riding on a motorcycle. The shooting occurred while Sgt. Judd was on his mail route. His main duty was to
deliver mail between the U.S. Embassy and Hellinker Air Base on the outskirts of Athens. This attack occurred six days after the attack on Ken Whitty. The gunmen drove alongside Judd's vehicle and started to fire into his vehicle. Judd was shot in the back and right hand. This tends to indicate they started to fire to soon. The key to the escape appears to be the fact that Sgt.
Judd kept the vehicle moving and did not stop.
On Sept. 17, 1980 at about 10:05 A.M., Samoza, his driver, and his financial advisor were ridding towards the
center of town in Samoza's non-armored vehicle. Driving behind Samoza's car were his four bodyguards in another vehicle. The attack took place as Samoza's cars passed a house that had been rented one month earlier by terrorists.
As Samoza passed the house, a stolen truck pulled out from the rented house and blocked Samoza's car.
The occupants of the truck fired at Samoza's car. A second group of terrorists fired at Samoza's car from the house. A terrorist in front of the house fired a rocket at Samoza's car. There was an exchange of gunfire with the terrorists and the bodyguards in the backup car. The terrorists fled on foot
MOTORCYCLE ATTACKS
Tony Inre Repelling A Motorcycle Attack: (26.00-26.30) "To repel a motorcycle attack is rather interesting. Ever
since driver education, we're trained to look in
front of us, and occasionally look in the rear view mirror. In some countries, it's almost the opposite. You spend as much time looking behind you as you do in front of you. To repel
a motorcycle attack the first issue's got nothing to do with driving. It's making sure that somebody is looking backwards; and that someone is watching every motorcycle that comes up close to the car."
Tony Inre Physics of Motorcycle Attack: (29.08-) "Let me show you graphically why moving away from a motor-
cycle attack is a good idea."
Tony Inre Physics Vs w/cu's On Chalkboard: (43.20-46.42)"This is the motorcycle-this is the driver, this is the
rider. This is the automobile. This is the back window. What will happen is that the rider will fire into the back
window of the car. And the rounds will progressively go down to the front of the car. This is
historical this is not projection. If you look at cars that been attacked by motorcycle riders, you will always see the rounds hit the back
of the window first. To prevent this from happening you have to make this as hard as possible for this rider on the back of the motorcycle to hit these targets. Remember that the principle's sitting right here. So the thing that you
have to do is to move the car-spin the car-to give the motorcycle rider the sharpest angle. If you look at this being
the back window again, it's becoming progressively harder for him to hit this window. Always remember while all
of this is going on,these two vehicles are moving. Even though this is spinning,it's moving in this direction at a
much lower speed than this vehicle is moving in this direction. So along with a sharper angle making it a lot harder
for the rider on the motorcycle to hit a car,the variance in speed makes a big difference. The velocity of the motor-
cycle is much higher than the velocity of the automobile. So the automobile is moving away from the motorcycle,
but also at a much slower speed, so they tend to overrun each other. The biggest reason to spin your automobile is
so the rider of this bike not only will have a sharper angle, but because of the difference in velocity he'll have to
move his body to fire at the car. He only has limited movement and will not be able to move his entire body. Also
it appears to this driver of the motorcycle that this car is going to come directly at him. Historically, he'll move the
bike away...
Tony: (36.22-) "...As a matter of fact, we stopped training with this. We stopped training in doing the bootlegger
turn close to the motorcycle in places like Columbia where these guys would have paint guns and shoot in. The
reason why we stopped it is even though these 2 vehicles never hit each other, these poor guys were falling off the motorcycle all the time. Even though they KNEW what was going to happen, they still would turn the bike away

Motorcycle Attacks
There are two types of attacks. The first attack is one on a stationary vehicle. It can be parked at a light or waiting
for traffic to move along. The assassin will drive up along side the car and fire into the side window. These attacks
are usually successful. When the car is not in motion, the driver changes his of alertness. He goes into a green mode. Drivers need to be made aware that their problems are not over when the car is not in motion. made to be adjusted properly. The driver must leave enough room in front of him so that he can see the bottom of the tires of the car in front os his.
The
second type of motorcycle attack happens if the car is moving and the motorcycle is moving. These attacks have not been very successful. In most cars the rounds hit the back window and then hit the side window. The speed differential between the two vehicles is as important as his properly adjusted mirrors. The driver needs to see the motorcycle approaching him. The driver must keep presence of mind and move the car so that he creates the biggest angle between the car and the motorcycle and
puts most of the matter between the attacker and them. There is a standard road block the car can come up and stop. The critical issue is how soon you see the ambush. You cannot wait until the last moment. The vehicle needs to have executive protection capabilities.
